01 February 2002: Amount of swaps concluded in December 2001

In December 2001 Agency France Trésor has concluded the equivalent of EUR 6.3 billion (nominal amount) in swaps of various maturities. The nominal outstanding amount at the end of December is EUR 37.225 billion.
December 2001 swaps have reduced the average maturity of the outstanding negotiable debt by 4 days. At the end of December 2001, the average maturity was:
- 6 years and 47 days before swaps;
- 5 years and 362 days before December swaps;
- 5 years and 358 days after December swaps.
